4 CI 9.10.1084. Stone. Hexagon. Fully preserved hexagon in palombino. The lower surface is roughly cut and has a large lump of mortar attached (T. 3.5-5.3). The mortar is light grey and uniform with inclusions of limestone and tufa of various sizes. On one side the impression, presumably of a fillet laid in white mortar, is visible. This is a very important feature, since it shows that whereas the hexagons are laid directly in the grey mortar, the much thinner fillet – in this case, only 0.8 thick and 0.9 wide (for instance fillet type C) was laid in white mortar. L. of sides 8.3, T. 2-2.8
