46 DE 5.4.119. Transport Amphorae. Gaulish Amphorae. Ostia L, which form is characterised by an almost square rim with a flat top, a fairly high, cylindrical neck, an egg-shaped body and a flat base with a large diameter. Its principal contents are not known. Non diagnostic part of neck and shoulder put together from several joining fragments. On the exterior a tituli picti reading “N” or “Z” is preserved on the shoulder just below the neck. There are distinct wheel marks on the interior part of the neck. H. 13, T. 0.7-1.3, inner neck Ø 11. A light red-brown fabric with a pink outer zone, 7.5YR 7/4 pink. The exterior surface appears water smoothed, 7.5YR 7/3 pink.
