J-40. CA 8.25 (8A2470). Drawing. Trench A. Attic black-glaze, cup-skyphos. Rim of lipless bowl with curved wall, Ø 16-20 cm, H. 2.2 cm, W. 2.8 cm, Wth. 0.3-0.5 cm. Hard fabric, sparse voids, very well levigated with no visible inclusions, 7.5YR 6/2 pinkish grey. Surface treatment: thin reddish brown glaze, 5YR 4/4 reddish brown/interior, 5YR 3/1 very dark grey worn/exterior - misfired, dull, polished, unglazed around edge of rim, exterior mottled to red-brown in spots, soapy feel.
