JJ-126 CN 2.10.657. Drawing. Architectural Terracottas: the Archaic and Post-Archaic Period. Revetment Plaques. Fragment from revetment plaque, openwork cresting, as described at JJ-132. H 4.4, W. 10.2, gr Th. 3.3. One edge preserved. Clay is levigated though with inclusions, pale brown yellow (10YR 7/4). White paint is preserved on maeander and on the petal ornament, the background to this was blue on white (ca. GLEY2 5/10B). The fragment is part of the central element of the maeander frieze which bears a flower petal ornament. The fragment is a half-element, the border runs through the middle of the petal ornament and has a slot, to enable separate elements to be joined. Small profiled fragment probably belongs, though there is no join. 3rd-2nd century BC
